The 4th of July

We had an eventful July 4th.

Levi's umbilical stump finally fell off, but we still can't really tell if he has an innie or an outie.

And we went on our first non-doctor's visit outing to Grandma's and Grandpa's house for dinner. Levi even wore a special 4th of July outfit.

The First Week Home

Our first week home with Levi turned out to be a little hectic with Cindy needing to go for transfusions on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday (which took all day). While she was away at the doctors' appointments, Levi was looked after by his Daddy, Auntie Randi, Uncle Jacob, Grandma, Grandpa, Saba, and Softa.

Going Home

On Friday, June 25th, Levi finally got to come home!

We had our first car ride together, and Mommy did not sit in the back seat. Levi really liks his car seat

Levi got to meet Molly, who was so excited to finally see 'her baby'.

We got all set up for our first night home in the pack and play in Mommy and Daddy's room with the portable tanning light (really a bili-light to help with the jaundice).

Levi didn'r really care for the pack and play, so the first night was the only night he shared Mommy and Daddy's room.

Our Hospital Stay

We had a pretty good stay at the hospital from Levi's birthday on Tuesday through Friday afternoon.

We hung out on Mommy's shoulder a lot...

...and Daddy's.

Daddy learned how to change diapers.

Levi got to hang out in his tanning bed.

(Which was actually treatment for jaundice.)

We got to give Levi a bottle.

Levi got his first bath...

...which he did NOT enjoy!

We arrived at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital at 6:00 am on June 21st for my scheduled induction, ready to finally meet our son. We had no idea that it would take so long for him to arrive. After we got settled into our room I had some blood tests run. It wasn't until 9:45 am that I started getting my plasma transfusions and after 4:00 pm by the time I finished (6 units in all). Then came the pitocin, but it would still be another 9+ hours before we would meet our son.

Poor Lewis! He had no comfortable place to sleep during the day and a half we spend in the Labor & Delivery room.
